SCARLET FEVER: A MINI REVIEW
Abstract
Scarlet fever is caused by bacterial induced toxins. The causative agent of scarlet fever is known as Streptococcus pyogenes (group A Streptococcus, GAS). The scarlet fever epidemic repeat its occurrence after a specified period in susceptible population. A number of antibiotics proved beneficial in the treatment of scarlet fever but the cases of resistance have also been increasing day by day. The variation in the genomic sequence of scarlet fever inducing causative agent makes antibiotic therapy less effective.
